Albert George Haddad

Albert George Haddad, age 80, of Alachua passed away June 5, 2014 at E.T. York Care Center in Gainesville, Florida. He was born December 20, 1933 in Boston, Massachusetts to Amin and Emily Haddad. After attending MIT for one year, he was a graduate of the United States Naval Academy (BSEE), University of Michigan (MS Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering, MS Information and Control Engineering). Albert attained the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Air Force, serving as a combat pilot, instructor pilot, test pilot, unit commander and instructor at the Armed Forces Staff College. Included in his military service are several tours of duty during the Vietnam war. After retiring from the Air Force, he attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he earned a PhD in Biomedical Engineering and Mathematics, his specialty being in the field of Robotics and Artificial Intelligence. After a thirteen year career in industry working for several companies, including Texas Instruments and Lockheed Martin, he taught at the University of North Texas in Denton, and most recently Sante Fe College in Gainesville. Included in his lifetime accomplishments are three U.S. patents, several published articles, and various copyrighted works. 


Albert is survived by his wife Linda A. Haddad; children, Karin E.Tanaka, Mary M. Haddad, Beverly L. Blosser, Richard H. Goodfellow III and William D. Goodfellow; brother, Raymond J. Haddad and sister Marguerite Beaton; 12 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.


He is preceded in death by a son; Albert George Haddad Jr.

Interment will be held in the Arlington National Cemetery with Full Military Honors at a later date.
